The Castaways is a 2023 British thriller miniseries adapted from Lucy Clarke’s novel of the same name. The series stars Sheridan Smith and Céline Buckens as sisters Lori and Erin Holme. Months later, Erin discovers that Lori’s credit card has been used on a remote Pacific island, prompting her to investigate and uncover the truth behind her sister’s disappearance .

The series received mixed reviews. The Guardian described it as “a darkly plotted and sunnily staged piece of escapism,” while Digital Spy noted that “you’ll have a right rollicking good time while you’re in the thick of it” . The Times likened it to “The Blue Lagoon meets a Harlan Coben thriller,” acknowledging some implausible plot points but praising the believable sibling bond portrayed by Smith and Buckens .
