Lucy (Johansson) is an American student in Taiwan who gets kidnapped by drug smugglers led by Mr. Jang (Choi Min-sik). They force her to transport CPH4, a synthetic drug, inside her body. However, when the drug leaks into her system, it enhances her cognitive abilities, granting her superhuman strength, telekinesis, and heightened intelligence. As her brainpower continues to expand, she seeks out Professor Norman (Freeman), a scientist studying human potential, while also evading the criminals chasing her.
Lucy is a visually stunning and entertaining action film, but its scientific inaccuracies and rushed narrative may frustrate some viewers. If you enjoy cerebral action movies like Limitless (2011) or Inception (2010), you’ll likely enjoy this one too.
