Sinners (2025) is a Southern Gothic supernatural horror film directed, co-written, and co-produced by Ryan Coogler. The film stars Michael B. Jordan in dual roles and explores themes of racial trauma, cultural resilience, and supernatural horror set against the backdrop of 1930s Mississippi.

Set in 1932 Mississippi, Sinners follows twin brothers Elijah “Smoke” and Elias “Stack” (both portrayed by Michael B. Jordan), World War I veterans who return to their hometown to open a juke joint. Their venture attracts the attention of supernatural forces, including white vampires, leading to a confrontation that intertwines personal and historical traumas. The film uses horror elements to delve into the Black American experience during the Jim Crow era, highlighting themes of racial violence and the enduring spirit of Black communities. ​
