Heads of State

Heads of State is an upcoming action-comedy film set to premiere on July 2, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video. Directed by Ilya Naishuller (Nobody), the movie stars John Cena as U.S. President Will Derringer and Idris Elba as U.K. Prime Minister Sam Clarke. The plot follows these two world leaders, known for their public rivalry, who are forced to team up when they become targets of a powerful foreign adversary. After their joint diplomatic mission is attacked, they must rely on each other to survive and thwart a global conspiracy. ​

The film also features Priyanka Chopra Jonas as MI6 agent Noel Bisset, along with Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Sarah Niles, and Carla Gugino in supporting roles. Cena and Elba, who previously collaborated in The Suicide Squad, also serve as producers for the film. ​

Filming took place across various international locations, including London, Liverpool, Trieste, and Belgrade. The screenplay was penned by Harrison Query, Josh Appelbaum, and André Nemec, with Ben Davis handling cinematography and Steven Price composing the music. ​

As of now, Heads of State has not yet been reviewed by critics, and audience ratings are pending. However, the recently released trailer has generated buzz for its blend of political satire, action, and comedy. Fans are particularly excited about the chemistry between Cena and Elba, as well as the film’s high-octane sequences. ​
