The Quake

Set three years after the events of The Wave (2015), The Quake follows geologist Kristian Eikjord, who is still traumatized from surviving the tsunami in Geiranger. Now living alone and estranged from his family, Kristian suspects that Oslo — Norway’s capital — is due for a massive earthquake. When minor tremors start shaking the city, he races against time to warn the public and save his loved ones from a catastrophic disaster.

The Quake is a thoughtful, grounded disaster film that focuses more on human emotion and suspense than on mass destruction. While it moves slower than typical Hollywood disaster flicks, its realistic approach, intense third act, and strong performances make it a standout in the genre.
